Tomographic analysis on a possible “Leonardesco” in Lecco
Research and studies for non-destructive checks applied to art does not stop.
Gilardoni, last Wednesday, had the pleasure and the honor to conduct tomographic and radioscopic analysis with microfocus multi-energy technique on the “Portrait of Lecco”.
The design, depicting a face of Christ, was considered among the possible works of Leonardo at the end of 2019, after coming into possession of the Gallo – Mazzoleni family. During these years, several studies have been carried out, both of a chemical nature as regards the support, both from the physical point of view for the composition of the pigments and for the performing technique used by the artist. The results of the studies carried out mean that the work can be attributed to Leonardo da Vinci.
Present during the day of analysis also prof. Rolando Bellini, historian of art specialized on Michelangelo, and so interested in Leonardo.
We thank the lawyer. Massimo Mazzoleni and his wife Silvia, for having chosen us and given us the opportunity to perform analyses in support of ongoing studies.
