In the week from 13 to 17 February, Gilardoni was present at the OIEA / IAEA – International Atomic Energy Organization in Vienna, together with a group of experts in the field of non-destructive testing (CND) and Cultural Heritage, from different parts of the world. (Malta, France, Morocco and Austria).
The working group, which started in March 2022, aimed to develop a programme for radiological examinations in cultural heritage in line with international standards such as ISO 9712 or SNT-TC-1A.
This syllabus is also intended to be used for the development of a technical document/E-learning material which will provide theoretical and practical information and guidelines for qualifying radiographers to plan and carry out radiological examinations in Cultural Heritage based on certification schemes used in Non-Destructive Testing / Radiography Testing as applied to Industry.
We conclude with a thought of Elisa, left us after her return:
“It was a great experience! We discussed about many specific topics, allowing me to acquire new skills and deepen my knowledge in the field of non-destructive testing in the art world.
I thank Gilardoni and Davide Baratto for this opportunity.”
Special thanks to AIPnD and IAEA for the opportunity and support!
