Vienna (Austria), 14 March 2025 – For the fourth consecutive year, from March 10th to 14th 2025, Gilardoni has been convened at the United Nations Headquarters of the IAEA (International Atomic Energy Agency) in Vienna to contribute to the final phase of the project “Consultant Meeting (CM) on the Development of e-learning material on Radiography for Cultural Heritage Applications”.

The meeting represented a crucial step in the final phase of the project aimed at creating high-level digital training content to support the qualification in radiography applied to cultural heritage (CH) of specialized technical personnel.

Opening the meeting, Mrs Celina Horak, Head of Section (RCRTS – Radiochemistry and Radiation Technology Section), welcomed the participants underlining the strategic value of the project for the dissemination of fundamental knowledge in the sector. Among the main topics addressed during the meeting:

  • The review and validation of the draft of the program already developed.
  • The analysis of the material developed by the participants (HBA) in relation to the key topics.
  • The integration of the missing contents in the training program.

Of particular importance was the session on the fourth day, which gave participants the opportunity to directly interact with the consultant appointed by the IAEA for the creation of the final product. This moment allowed a useful exchange of technical opinions and suggestions to ensure the quality and effectiveness of the e-learning material.

Non-destructive testing for cultural heritage represents a wealth of knowledge and technology that must be enhanced. Thanks to diagnostic imaging, we can contribute to a sustainable and responsible use of our past,” said Elisa EliaTomography NDT team Gilardoni, at the end of the working sessions.

The collaboration with the IAEA confirms the company’s commitment in promoting advanced technologies for the common good, particularly in the cultural heritage sector.
