Gilardoni successfully participated in the international EFNDT Seminar NDT in Railway organized by DGZfP and held in Linz (Austria) from March 11th to 13th 2025. During the congress, topics related to non-destructive testing in the railway sector were addressed. Thanks also to the participation of experts from 9 different countries, it was possible to discuss different approaches and recent developments in the field of NDTs for both production and maintenance. Gilardoni also actively contributed with innovative content by presenting some results related to the recently developed automatic ultrasonic inspection system for railway hollow axles, called Borosonda or BAT.

The congress, a European reference point for professionals, companies and researchers in the railway sector, was an important opportunity for discussion on emerging technologies, safety and efficiency of rail transport.

The visit to the ÖBB-factory in Linz was also very interesting, during which it was possible to see live some of the maintenance phases carried out on the site.
