Mandello del Lario, October 30, 2024 – Gilardoni recently hosted the second- and third-year students of the Medical Radiology Techniques for Imaging and Radiotherapy degree of the Insubria University, visiting with the director of teaching Dr. Roberto Di Bella, Prof. Paolo Castiglioni, and the tutor Dr. Marco Borneo. This initiative represented a unique training opportunity, offering future professionals a direct immersion in the technologies and advanced production processes that support the creation of high-precision radiological equipment.
The day began with a theoretical lesson by Fabio Salvetti, a radiation protection expert, who explained the properties and the generation of X-rays. Marco Mazza then illustrated the characteristics and construction of X-ray tubes, while Davide Perego explored the structure of detectors and anti-scattering grids. The morning was concluded by Alberto Anzani, a tomography specialist, with his in-depth look at the design of radiological devices and the challenges of applied tomography.
In the afternoon, the students took part in guided tours of the design, production and development departments with a particular focus on the use of radiological technologies for national security, including explosives and weapons detecting systems.
Gilardoni once again confirmed its commitment to innovation and specialized training, actively supporting the growth of new generations of professionals. Through initiatives like this, we strengthen the link between advanced technical skills and applications in the diagnostic imaging sector, helping to build a more prepared and competent future for the entire sector.
